Rafay’s Sales Engineering Team is composed of customer first, technology a close second, hands-on professionals who work closely with our customers to evangelize Rafay’s Kubernetes Orchestration Platform. Our fast growing team is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join our enterprise sales team. This role would report to the Director of Sales Engineering.
If you are interested, you will need to possess experience working at high growth startup companies in the tech industry as a pre-sales engineer; customer facing skills that will allow you to represent Rafay within a customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel including c-level. You will have a strong technical background that will enable you to interact and provide guidance to developers, architects, DevOps personnel and SREs. You will build a trusted technical advisor relationship with prospects and customers through education, presentation, demonstration, and proof-of-value of Rafay’s market leading Kubernetes Operations Platform.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Support account executives to help customers understand the value of Rafay’s market leading Kubernetes Operations Platform.
Understand customer requirements for specific use cases and help them design architectures and solutions using Rafay’s Kubernetes Operations Platform.
Understand customer technical objections and work with the sales and product management to develop strategies to resolve them.
Perform discovery sessions with customer’s developers, SREs and DevOps personnel to understand their pain points and business needs, then drive the value proposition of Rafay’s solution to meet and solve those challenges
Build and deliver presentations, demos and proof-of-value to demonstrate the use of Rafay with key partners/technologies in the CNCF Landscape
Communicate customer technical requirements to Rafay’s product and engineering teams; be the customer advocate for the product roadmap.
Be the technical point of contact for prospective customers, and have the ability to both advise and troubleshoot in complex technical environments.
Represent Rafay at trade shows webinars and local events
Craft technical content to present at conferences, meetups, webinars, blogs and other events
Travel to customer sites and events as required (up to 35% travel or as needed)
WHAT WE WANT TO SEE
5 years of experience in a sales engineering role in a business to business sales capacity
Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely on complex technical topics, and deliver effective technical presentations.
Ability to break complex technical topics into easy to understand, bite size, relatable topics for all levels of understanding
Proven ability to sell across the whole sales process, from discovery to close won
Well versed and trained in current / modern sales methodologies
Experience in software engineering and design architecture
Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD
Working knowledge of software development practices and technologies
Hands on experience with Kubernetes distributions containers, and public cloud platforms (AWS public cloud & AWS EKS Preferred)
Hands on familiarity with the CNCF technology landscape, and ability to quickly learn new technologies and solutions.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional preferred
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$190,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
